THE MENTAL PREP

o be ready for a boudoir shoot you have to be ready to receive yourself. To meet yourself. To see your self in a completely different way. It’s fucking magical dude. Believe me!

This is more than just building your confidence. This is connecting with your inner self. Defining who you are. Embracing who you are. Owning who you are. Being comfortable with who you are.

I want you to love the way you feel. In your images, I want you to look the way you feel. Which is not insecure or nervous! But, beautiful, strong, worthy and powerful. Believe me, you will! I don’t care how nervous you think you may be! Now, I am not saying you can’t be nervous or else your pictures will look like shit LMAO! I’m saying, you have to trust yourself and do the work before hand so you believe in yourself.

How you come into your session, how you feel during your session is going to either make or break your boudoir images. It's the truth. I don't want you to worry about what you look like. But, I want you to worry about what you FEEL!

First step, SELF CARE

In order for you to really get the most out of this exercise, you have to dedicate some INTERRUPTED time for yourself.

  • Find some time for yourself. Do a shower or bath routine, whichever feels most relaxing for you. This has to be a full girly bathe. Do everything in a shower/bath routine that makes you feel refreshed! So wash your hair, shave, exfoliate your body; etc.

  • Once you’re done, put on your favorite moisturizer and even some perfume. Remember, the point is to FEEL GOOD!

  • When you are putting on your moisturizer, take it slow! Don’t just blab it on ya ass cheeks! It’s important to feel comfortable with & to appreciate your body. Show her some love! Speak some outlaid affirmations, I am sexy, I am beautiful, my body is divine, whatever you think of! And give yourself a little massage! The massage and touch is SO important. This teaches you to get comfortable with touching your body and connecting with yourself.

Second step, MOVEMENT

We hold SO much into our bodies. So much that we truly don't realize. Free form movement is the best escape. Yeah, it may feel weird and uncomfortable. That's because it's new! Remember, new. Not wrong.

I want you to let go of all of the fears, doubts, ego, insecurities, baggage, any negative shit that anyone ever told you or made you feel. And I want you to reconnect with yourself. Because bitch, you have a fucking spark. A literal light inside and I don't want you to let that dim. EVER.

  • Put something comfortable on, doesn’t have to be sexy lingerie, just something easy and comfy and baggy! Think sweat pants, big t shirt etc!

  • Find a room that feels comfortable, hell even go outside if it makes you feel comfortable!

  • Play some music, something that is sensual and connecting. My fave right now is Moan by Sabrina Claudio!

  • Close your eyes, breathe and think “connect with my body”. Move in a way that feels free, touch your body, move your body, just release!! Think slow dance with yourself.
    It doesn't matter how much you struggle, or how far you can bend. Just move and touch your body. Not necesarrily sexually, BUT sensually. It doesn't matter how you look. Don't record yourself. This is for you. It matters how you feel. I recorded my self to show you, incase you're thinking "what in the actual fuck Taylor".

Third step, LOOK AT YOURSELF

Be naked with yourself. After your movement. After you are feeling relaxed and satisfied with how good you felt. Get naked. Yep. Butt ass naked girl.

  • Get in front of the mirror, close your eyes, place a hand on your chest and a hand on your stomach and BREATHE! Just breathe with your eyes closed until you feel relaxed.

  • When you open your eyes and see yourself, do not fucking start degrading yourself for fucks sake! That defeats the entire purpose! Instead look at yourself with fresh eyes! Admire your body, your curves, YEAH BABE I’M TALKING TO YOU! Say some affirmations out loud. Like these:
    I am divine
    I am sexy
    I am beautiful
    My body is unique and beautiful
    I love my stomach
    I love my face
    I love my legs
    The only validation I need is from myself
    I am fucking powerful

You HAVE to get comfortable with your body. How she feels, how she looks, how she feels, how she moves. This is about you. This is about connecting with yourself and knowing damn well you deserve every moment of feeling sexy and worthy.

You MUST get comfortable with your reflection now. You must see how your body is. If you skip this, you will see your boudoir pictures and not know what to think or feel. So trust me. Get comfortable with yourself.

Do all of these steps as often as you need and want! Even when you’re feeling shitty. ESPECIALLY when you’re feeling good!

This version we told ourself they were or who we wanted them to be. We did it to ourself because regardless of the situation somewhere sometime we told ourself all these amazing things and what ifs. NOW. Think about what your brain will do for you when you start to tell yourself all these amazing things.”
